Permit & Warranty Assistant — Privacy Policy

Effective August 3, 2026 · Applies to the “Kontracks Permit & Warranty Assistant” browser extension for Chrome, Edge, and Safari.

The Kontracks Permit & Warranty Assistant (the “extension”) is a form-fill helper for contractors who use the Kontracks CRM. When you choose to file a building permit or register a manufacturer warranty, the extension takes the job data you already have in Kontracks and helps you type it into the town’s permit portal or the manufacturer’s warranty site — on a browser tab you are already signed into. It is published by LWR Technologies, Inc. (“we”, “us”), the operator of the Kontracks platform.

1. The short version

  • The extension has no server of its own and sends no data to us or to any third party.
  • It does not collect analytics, track your browsing, or build any profile.
  • It only runs on the Kontracks tab (to receive the job you chose to file) and on a permit/warranty page you explicitly load it onto.
  • It never logs in, solves CAPTCHAs, checks certification boxes, signs, or submits — you do all of that yourself.
  • Your data is never sold and never used for advertising.

2. What data the extension handles

To fill a form, the extension works with the specific job details you staged in Kontracks for that filing — for example: the property owner’s name and contact details, the job address, project scope, measurements, material selections, and your company’s contractor license numbers. This is data you already entered into your own Kontracks account.

The extension receives that data from the Kontracks web page (which you are logged into) and holds it temporarily on your own device in the browser’s local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) so it can place it on the permit/warranty form. It is cleared when you clear it, arm a different job, or uninstall the extension.

3. What the extension does NOT do

  • It does not transmit your data to LWR Technologies, to Kontracks servers, or to any third party.
  • It does not read, collect, or store the contents of the permit/warranty websites, or any other website you visit.
  • It does not run on arbitrary websites: on-portal placement happens only when you click the extension and choose “Load assistant on this page.”
  • It does not access your login credentials for any portal — you sign in yourself.
  • It contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

4. Permissions, and why they’re used

  • storage — to hold the job data you’re filing on your device while you fill the form.
  • activeTab & scripting — to place the helper panel on the portal page you explicitly choose to load it onto.
  • clipboardWrite — for the “copy” buttons in the helper panel.
  • Access to app.kontracks.com — so the Kontracks page can hand the extension the job you chose to file.
  • Optional per-site access — only granted by you, per portal, when you choose to keep the assistant on that specific site.

5. Data sharing & sale

We do not sell, rent, or share any data handled by the extension. Because the data never leaves your device (except being typed by you into the government/manufacturer form you chose), there is nothing for us to share.

6. Children

The extension is a business tool for contractors and is not directed to children under 13.

7. Changes

If we change how the extension handles data, we’ll update this page and its effective date. Material changes will be reflected in an updated extension version and its store listing.
