Permit & Warranty Assistant — Support

The Kontracks Permit & Warranty Assistant is a form-fill helper for contractors who use the Kontracks CRM. It takes the job data you already have in Kontracks and helps you type it into a town’s permit portal or a manufacturer’s warranty site — on a tab you are already signed into. You always keep control of login, signing, and submitting. It is published by LWR Technologies, Inc., the operator of Kontracks, and is intended for existing Kontracks customers.

How to use it

  1. Install the extension and pin it — click the puzzle-piece icon in your browser toolbar and pin “Kontracks Permit & Warranty Assistant” so its ⚡ icon is visible.
  2. In Kontracks, open a job and choose Pull Permit (or open a customer and choose File Warranty).
  3. Click Open & arm assistant. Kontracks hands the assistant the data for that one job and opens the portal.
  4. Sign in to the portal yourself.
  5. On the portal tab, click the ⚡ Kontracks icon and choose Load assistant on this page. A panel appears with your job’s values.
  6. Use Auto-fill this page, or drag the ⠿ handle from any value onto a field, or tap Copy and paste. You review everything and click Submit yourself.

Troubleshooting

  • The panel is empty or says “Not armed.” The assistant only shows data after you arm a job. In Kontracks, open a job → Pull Permit (or File Warranty) → Open & arm assistant, then return to the portal tab and click Load assistant on this page.
  • “Load assistant on this page” doesn’t do anything. That usually means no job is armed yet — arm one in Kontracks first (above). If you just installed the extension, refresh the Kontracks Pull Permit page so it detects the extension, then click “Open & arm assistant.”
  • I don’t see the ⚡ Kontracks icon. Click the puzzle-piece icon in your browser toolbar and pin the extension so its icon stays visible.
  • Some fields didn’t fill automatically. The assistant fills plain text fields. For dropdowns, date pickers, or fields with unusual labels, drag the ⠿ handle from the value onto the field, or tap Copy and paste it in. This is normal and by design — you stay in control of every field.
  • A value looks wrong or is missing. The assistant only shows what’s in your Kontracks job. Fix the source in Kontracks (for example, your company address lives under Settings → Company), re-arm the job, and the corrected values will appear.

What it never does

  • It never logs in or stores your portal passwords — you sign in yourself.
  • It never solves CAPTCHAs, checks certification/agreement boxes, signs, or clicks Submit.
  • It only runs on a portal page after you explicitly load it there.
